Info: Beschäftigt man sich näher mit der Musik von Marbert Rocel werfen sich durchaus Fragen auf – zum Beispiel ob Drumkits zwangsläufig aus den vorgegebenen Standards wie Couch, Truhe und einem 1 L Weinglas bestehen müssen? Ob Wärme unausbleiblich aus dem Osten kommen muss? Ob es nicht abwechslungsreichere Verwendung für die Leipziger Stadtbeleuchtung gibt? Außer Frage steht, dass es bei Marbert Rocel zu 100% um die Musik geht, egal ob sie in Deutschland, Holland, Italien, Polen, drinnen, draußen, auf dem Dach, im Keller, in kleiner Runde, vor vielen Leuten oder vor richtig vielen Leuten spielen – und genau deshalb freuen wir uns sehr, die sympathische Band live und zum greifen Nah präsentieren zu können.

Ihre ersten Lieder brannte Marbert Rocel auf eine CD, befestigten diese auf einem Stück bemaltem Holz und schickten jenes an Compost Records. Wir machen gern viel selbst oder mit Freunden und wir nehmen dafür gern Sachen, die gerade zur Hand sind.“ So die Aussage von Marbert Rocel und diesem Ansatz bleibt die Band auch mit ihrem dritten Album „small hours”, welches am 19. April bei Compost Records erscheint, treu. Und so beschreiben Spunk, Malik, Martin Kohlstedt und Panthera Krause nicht nur die Leichtfüßigkeit des schwer greifbaren Seins, sondern die Essenz aus allzumenschlichen Dauerthemen wie Liebe, Einsamkeit, Halsschmerzen oder Enttäuschung – und jene Zeit, in der man reflektiert, tanzt, jammert oder sich einfach nur rauchend und aus dem Fenster lehnt.

Dazu passt natürlich perfekt die Musik von Here Is Why, die sich zwar musikalisch merklich an den stilsicheren Kapiteln der Synthpop-Geschichte geschult hat, sich inhaltlich aber ebenfalls um einfühlsame, warme ja menschliche Themen dreht. Auf ihrem aktuellem Album „HRSY“, kürzlich auf Riotvan erschienen, reflektieren sie innovativen Feingeist mit wegweisender Produzentenarbeit, fließende Skurrilitätsschatten, ewige Sehnsucht, Floor-Erleuchtung und Airplay-Tauglichkeit in ihrem Sounddesign. In verhältnismäßig kurzen Geschichten entwickeln Sie sich schon jetzt zu einem der bemerkenswerten hiesigen Pop-Phänomene der letzten zehn Jahre.

Abgerundet werden die beiden Live-Shows durch DJ-Sets von Good Guy Mikesh, Peter Invasion

Info: It’s the 80s. A young boy is growing up to the soundtrack of Electro Funk, drawing influence from the likes of Jackson, The Whispers and D-Train and developing a genuine passion for music. Around 20 years later in November 2011, this boy is releasing his debut album “Pitchslap” on Compost Records.
The debut album have reached premium respect and massive props from press and party folk, went straight into the top 10 at Beatport and RA charts as well as was voted as best „disco“ newcomer in 2011 in DJ Mag and Trax.

Finally the first remix package is ready to emphasize the quality, sexyness and extravagance of Pitchben’s discotheque.  Tiger & Woods, Runaway (the companion-flagship of Marcos Cabral and Jaques Renault) and again Russian supertalent Sportloto delivering slick shapely remixes of the stand out tunes „Stand Up“ and Pitchben’s superb coverversion of D-train classic „Keep Giving Me Love“ .

Info:  Kaum zu glauben aber wahr – ganze drei Jahre sind THOMAS HERB und MICHAEL REINBOTH nun schon mit den COMPOST BLACK LABEL SESSIONS am Start und schaffen es immer wieder genau den Spirit mit uns zu teilen, der uns allen so am Herzen liegt, der uns auf den Dancefloor zieht und uns morgens, massiert von Beats und Basslines, mit einem dicken Lächeln nach Hause ziehen lässt.

Mit MR. WHITE und NUNO DOS SANTOS stehen zum Jubiläum zwei Künstler auf dem Programm, die uns ganz sicher mitnehmen werden ins La La Land. MR. WHITE natürlich vor allem durch seine Live Performance. Wer erinnert sich nicht gerne an seinen betörenden Gesang auf Larry Heard’s The Sun Can’t Compare oder sein Vocalfeature auf Marcus Worgul’s Spellbound. Im vergangenen Jahr war es der Track Passion von Phreek Plus One, den MR. WHITE durch seinen Gesang veredelte. Erst kürzlich wurde der Track, der im DJ T Remix die Dancefloors im Sturm eroberte, auch noch von Visionquest geadelt, indem sie das Stück für ihren Fabric Mix lizensierten.

NUNO DOS SANTOS gilt als herausragender DJ und Produzent. Unter dem Projektnamen 360 hält NUNO zusammen mit Patrice Bâumel eine Residency im legendären Amsterdamer Club Trouw und obendrein versorgen die beiden auch noch Labels wie Joris Voorn’s Green Records mit Perlen wie der Neon EP. Doch damit nicht genug, als eine Hälfte von TJ Kong & Nuno Dos Santos veröffentlichte der charmante Niederländer bereits seit 2006 auch auf COMPOST BLACK LABEL – kein geringerer als Pete  Tong kürte kürzlich den Track Something Happened feat. Nicolette zu einem seiner Favoriten in 2011. Aber auch Tunes wie Merging feat. Robert Owens oder The Deep End scheinen wie für die Ewigkeit gemacht.

Den beiden zur Seite steht natürlich THOMAS HERB, der es sich nicht nehmen lässt uns mit großem Herz und sicherer Hand in Richtung Peaktime zu führen.

Info: Be like Berlin. Eva Be embodies the sound of that city like no other artist. Effortless, she elegantly moves between genres like Dub, House or any other urban electronic style. The “First Lady of Dub, House & Electro”, that’s what she’s called by true Berliners. And she stays true to her nick name: from deep House sounds over hypnotic Dub tunes crossing smart Techno with a dash of Detroit – within her DJ sets and productions she delivers a mixed bag of high quality sound.

Inspired by her creative and nameable environment around the DJ and producer collective Jazzanova Eva Be started to play records at the age of 18. A bit later she became a constant member of famous Sonarkollektiv. Her debut album “Moving Without Travelling”, heavily inspired by Eva Be’s long lasting love for Dub and Reggae attracted a lot attention. Not to mention the well-known features such as Fat Freddy’s Drop’s Joe Dukie, Sugar B and the German-Iranian singer and actor Pegah Ferydoni.

Thereupon the British jazz magazine “Straight No Chaser” elected her “Berlin’s Rising Star”. Multitudinous remixes for established artists like Recloose, Micatone, Ye:Solar, Markus Enochson and Tolcha followed. Since 2007 Eva Be’s musical focus changed and she explored a more electronic terrain that can be traced on releases like “New Crack” or the remix for Sahin Meyer’s “World Cup of The Future” (both on Best Works Records).

Her productions and DJ sets are well known over the German boarder as well. But the centre of her creativity is and always will be Berlin. And so you can find Eva Be in the city’s second living rooms like Watergate, Tresor, Cookies, //aboutblank, Weekend or WMF.
