Artist: Rafael Da Cruz
Title: Compost Black Label #118
Cat No: CPT 451-1 /-3
Format: 12” / Download
Rafael Da Cruz’ debut 12“ finally hits the streets, dipping into deeper, gloomier spheres of house. Soaring synths cleverly trim the bed of fat broad baselines. The Black 80s give the original a wicked analogue touch, with a splendid soulful vocal version as bonus track. Cosmic Cowboys and David Hasert supply two impressive remixes that both create a dark, but uniquely vibrant scenery and complete the package.
With a name like that, you should become a leading actor in an Coen-Brothers-Movie, professional soccer player at Benfica Lisbon or head of government with a dictatorial claim for leadership. Eduardo Rafael Da Cruz Ferreira – editor of the magazine FAZEmag – early devoted himself to electronic music. His graceful and melancholic interpretation of deep house he quickly made a name for himself in numerous clubs from Cologne, over Hamburg to Berlin and at festivals like PollerWiesen, RaveOnSnow, Utopia . . . →

Title: Compost Black Label 117 Remixes 2
Cat No: CPT 452-3
After the highly acclaimed Black Label #109 12“, the “Friends EP”, with the huge Dinky remixes, that came out earlier this year as teaser for Christian Prommer’s album “ÜberMood”, here is another remix package with reworks from Alex Niggemann and Sascha Braemer.
Alex Niggemann’s strings of releases and remixes on labels like Get Physical, Tsuba, Supernature, 8bit, his own imprints AEON and Soulfooled and others reaches back to 2005 and showcases the stylistic variety of the 1984 born producer who’s able to handle vocal-heavy house music as well dark’ish techhouse for moving masses.
But still: thinking of terms like “Chicago”, “Detroit”, “mids 90s” and “Techno-House” will never miss the point when it comes to Mr. Niggemann’s timeless, high quality output as these are and have been highly influential in shaping his sound of today.
Same goes for his much appreciated DJ sets which have been taking . . . →

Title: Compost Black Label # 116
Cat No: CPT 449-1
Format: 12” / Download
Shayan is a strong, darkly swinging groover, convincing with a laconic cello theme. The B-side contains two huge deep house monsters! You’ll get lost in hypnotic synth pads and organ funkiness!
After his highly acclaimed album Dripping Point in 2009, his first very own Tacky Dream EP and a nice remix for Marbert Rocel on Compost Black Label, Teheran (Iran) born DJ & producer Shahrokh Dini finally is back with a new 12“. For this EP, he teamed up with production mastermind Jan Krause from Beanfield.
Besides the album and some 12”s on Compost, Shahrokh’s release history is spiced and bottled with lots of good house music on labels like MoodMusic, KID Recordings, BBE, People That Make The Music, Strictly Rhythm, Ministry Of Sound and others.

Impressive assortment of floor-filling house. Maybe it’s Cocolores best remix so far, plus a great room- and breath-taken remix from Anushka (new GP / Brownswood signing) and once again a tip top smart but shoving Lukas Bohlender house mix….this game is now not over. It’s just starting off the right foot.
Robinn is clearly a name /act to discover, watch, and follow. When it comes to modern hybrids of post-dubstep, nu broken soul, eerie downbeat combined with this genuine spirit of the vocals by Nathaniel Pearn (Natural Self / Tru Thoughts) it’s soothing and challenging in one go. Check Robin’s debut album „Multiphonia“ which was released on Compost in October 2013.
Cocolores comprises Jason Heath and Manuel Garay, two talented youngsters from Munich, currently living and working in London. Already getting love support from Maja Jane Coles, Luciano, Joakim, Ewan Pearson, Trickski and many more, their debut EP . . . →

we are Jürgen Graf and Christian Nainggolan.
Together we are YOKTO. Both of us have a long standing interest in electronic music in general and electronic dance music in particular. The studio of YOKTO is sited in my home in the countryside close to the french border in Saarland (Germany). We meet up regularly on Fridays in order to get our tracks done and having a good time.
The geographic location of the studio has advantages for us. On the one hand, we can fully concentrate on our work and are not distracted. On the other hand, we enjoy the culinarily delicacies from our french neighbors, . . . →

Title: Compost Black Label # 111
Cat No: CPT 434-1
Format: 12” / Download
Breathing classic deep house. This is deep house at its best. Including tip top remixes by Filippo Moscatello (perhaps his best remix ever!) and Russian wunderkind Dima Studitsky. Kinda accident: The Prescription Mix is 9:09 min. and the FNM Stripped Mix is 8:08 min., we are not sure, if planned or not, but maybe it’s worth waiting for a 3:03 min. version!
In the past, dutchman TJ Kong usually appeared together with his production partner in crime Nuno Dos Santos. They already released several Black Label 12inches and the album „After Dark, My Sweet“ in 2010. Now, TJ Kong is back with his very own „Sweet Sweet Lovin’“, which features the sensitive soulful vocals of Ovasoul7. This exceptional singer lent his voice already to the works of Deetron, Motorcitysoul, DJ Spinna and Slope.
In 2013, TJ Kong, in coop with Eric De Man, . . . →

The Nicola Conte Dubstrumental is so great, a grower and real winner, the perfect old school nu school house vibe. Early support by Moodymann, Gilles Peterson, Rainer Trüby and the whole Compost crew. First 10inch on Compost Black Label !
Bet.e & Stef took the country by storm over a decade ago with their pop meets jazz, bossa-nova and latin stylings. Remarkably, they earned a Gold record in Canada with their self-released first album, “Jazz Bossa Nova”. A deal with Japan’s Toshiba-EMI soon followed, along with interest from every major record label in Canada. This JUNO-nominated duo from Montréal, Québec chose to partner with Universal Music Canada, achieving Platinum with their second album, “Day By Day.” Both milestones were even more remarkable given their global, multilingual sound was a far cry from the pop music du jour. Numerous sold-out performances at the . . . →
