Natural High Productions was formed in 1992 by the DJs Alex Dallas and Robi Insinna. The initial idea behind the project was Djing together and organizing partys. In 1995 Alex and Robi moved to Zürich and started their first weekly clubnight at the Luv. Their style to mix up everything from jazz, dub, hip hop and drum’n’bass helped to establish them quickly. In late ’95 NHP started their second clubnight called Nu ‘Stepz which was definetly helped drum & bass breakthroug in Zürich. NHP started booking international Dj’s like LTJ Bukem, James Lavelle, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Peshay, Gilles Peterson, Roni Size a.m.m. for their Nu ‘stepz clubnight. NHP also began Dj-ing all over Switzerland and abroad. Now after running their ‘Nu ‘Stepz’ clubnight for over 1.5 years they moved to the famous Kaufleuten club which is also in Zürich. There they are continuing their tradition of booking the high quality DJ creme de la creme. Their ‘Pressure’ night on sundays has senn guests like Doc Scott, Photek, Hidden Agenda, J. Majik, Blame and others.
In summer 1996 Robi and Alex met soundengineer Alex Gustafson from Chicago and started producing music under their NHP projectname. Alex G. who is involved into producing since 10 years, is the seams to be the perfect partner for the two Dj’s. And finaly in the beginning of 1997 the NHP-crew was joined by singer Tara Narayanan.
Natural High Productions have released their first 10“ on Bel Air Project’s Corn-flex Label which features They will also contribute a few tracks to Corn-flex’ label compilation which also contents tracks from Bel Air Project, Beatless and Funkanova a.o. the uptempo – club – tune ‘The Theme’ and the drum’n’bass – tune ‘Brand New Day’. NHP’s second 12“inch which includes the dope down beat track ‘Timebomb’ and the two sensational slow-mo tracks ‘Sonar’ and ‘Knock Me Down’ is out on Compost now.
