Info: After one and a half decade and more than 350 releases, Compost Records bundles some of their finest tunes as Various Artists digital download compilation albums.
The variety and full spectrum of Compost’s repertoire has never or rarely been presented in form of a musical genre compilation. These releases will be compiled or DJ-mixed by Compost’s artists and are available as digital downloads, except in some rare cases very very limited as 500 CDs.
For the first issue of the Compost House Selection called 10.000 Leagues Deeper – Compost House Cosmos, Compost Head Honcho Michael Reinboth choose Thomas Herb for compiling and mixing. Not without a cause…awarded as the best newcomer at Italian Music Conference (Riccione) in 2001 – Thomas Herb is a familiar face in the Munich House scene for years – as a long time resident DJ at the „Flokati“ clubnight (Harry Klein / Ultraschall) and playing at selected spots outside his hometown, like Tape (Berlin), U60311 (Frankfurt), Meierei (Wien), El Divino (Ibiza), Pascia (Riccione), Mood Lounge (Karlsruhe) or Rave On Snow (Saalbach Hinterglemm), he’s constantly performing and fusing his mixing talent with a high sensibility for the perfect tune at the right time. Musically, Thomas Herb’s DJing is not fixed in any genre boundaries, it’s spontanous but the result, the essence of his sets is always a versatile blend of true House Music. Throughout the years he performed with or gave DJ-support to artists like Tony Humphries, Karotte, Sandy Rivera, Peter Kruder, Jay Shepheard, Charles Webster, Dixon, Eddy Amador, Tiefschwarz, I:Cube, Boris Dlugosch, James Priestley etc. – lot’s of inspiration, needless to mention!
On top of the game, Thomas is running the well respected monthly clubevent „Compost Black Label Sessions“ at Harry Klein together with Michael Reinboth, to serve a constant platform for Compost (Blacklabel) and Drumpoet Community related artists and remixers. All in all, pretty good signs to create this 10.000 Leagues Deeper House Cosmos which embeds finest but not too obvious House gem’s out of the Compost vaults. Thomas’ aim with this selection has been to dig a little deeper, to include some of his well hung older favourites alongside more current one’s, to get them into a flow and make it sound timeless. Judge For Yourself!
