Quotes: Both sides are magnificent on this EP. Secret Playground – my favourite track, deep and gentle tech sound. It seems DrumpoetCommunity snows a new aesthetics in techno sounding on what not similar DJ Laurel / This one is truly cosmic. Insane beats. Great production. Mike Stukes / Zurich’s main man Lexx flexes his Detroit muscles and hits the spot with both tracks. “Kadena” and “Secret Playground” are equally sweet and in a positive way similar to what is leavin the studios of Âme and Carl Craig at the moment. Voodoo house. Gerd Janson
Info: Welcome along to the second release of the brandnew drumpoet.comMUNITY recordlabel out of Zurich. The label is a cooperation with the mighty Compost Records and it works as a sublabel. Founded by Alex Dallas, Alex Gustafson (Founders of Straight Ahead Rec., aka. Earthbound), Tobi Foster and Ron Shiller (aka. Soultourist) the aim is to release finest electronic music with a touch of soul and a strong need to rock the dancefloors on a deeper level. Music with attitude, personality and an individual approach. Kawabata aka Lexx is a project of one of Zurich’s finest Djs/Producers. Lexx is a major force in Zurich’s nightlife and enjoys a great reputation for his outstanding dj-sets in clubs like „Zukunft“ or the now closed „dachkantine“. As a producer he released various music from his early days stuff as one of the most ground-breaking Swiss Hip Hop acts to the present with his more cosmic music under his DJ-name Lexx on Bear Funk and the more techy orientated stuff as Kawabata. With this release on drumpoet he presents „Kadena“, a track which already acclaimed much attention by the likes of âme and dixon and creates a fresh symbiosis between Disco and Detroit. An emotional and bootyshaking tune which can take you higher and make you want to move it. On „Secret Playground“ he goes into the more dubby side of this EP and provides a deep minimal excursion with a warm and almost cinematic feel. Lexx is a musiclover so his spectrum is huge, but all we can say is, that this man knows what he does and there are many things to say about this record but there’s nothing better than listening to it.
