Info: Beanfield are Jan Krause, Tobias Meggle and Compost-head Michael Reinboth (for any further details please check Beanfield’s full length biography or Compost-homepage!) This is the second 12inch, which will be released from the stunning second Beanfield album „Human Patterns“. „The Season“ is an outstanding deep vocal tune, which is already No. 1 in the play-lists of Gilles Peterson (in his charts in Straight No Chaser), Jazzanova, King Britt, Phil Asher, Rainer Trüby and many other play-lists. The vocalist is Bajka, a young Spoken Word Poetry-singer, who lives part-time in Munich. At the moment she is studying music in Prague. Bajka was born in 25.12.1978 in (sic!) the Taj Mahal and grew up in Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan and on a catamaran in South Africa. Her birth in the Taj Mahal was being filmed and was made public through TV (movie “Embryo’s Vagabunden Karawane”). During her stay in Asia she learned to love the Indian-Oriental music. Maybe this seems to be strange but together with the music commune Embryo (her father is the Embryo founder) she has been travelling around the world ever since. She spent her childhood with dissidents of Karnataka College Of Percussion, Charlie Mariano, and Mal Waldron. She went to school in Goa, Bangalore, Laogs, Portugal, Seattle (USA), Durban and Capetown. Her special relationship to Asia was and still is the main theme of her poetry. She has sung previous Spoken Word Poetry on following projects: “Instinctive Traveller”, Transglogal Underground, “Bubblegum” for South African Zulu Nation, for Noujoum Oazza and his band Urban Dervish and for Royal Maroccan Orchestra. A track for DJ Spinna (Rawkus Records) will coming soon. Swag are from Sheffield! They run a label, shop, production-unit and studio. They did a great remix job as always (as they did for Herbert, Green Velvet, Hardfloor, Blaze, Jimi Tenor, Maas, Moloko, Mateo & Matos, Groove Collective, Tiny Trendies, Steve Bug, Björk, Ian Pooley and many others). Also, Chris Duckenfield is a music journalist and the man behind RAC, which has released on WARP, and had a track on “The Future Sound Of Jazz”-Vol. 3. Watch out for the Attica Blues remixes of “The Season” and Ian Simmonds remix of “Catalpa”
